Keep SNAP Funded Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Miller-Meeks, Mariannette [R-IA-1]
Introduced
Summary
Keeps SNAP benefits flowing during a FY2026 funding gap by authorizing whatever funds are needed. The bill would let the Secretary of Agriculture draw from Treasury funds that are not otherwise appropriated to provide uninterrupted Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits during any FY2026 appropriations gap. It would also cover missed SNAP payments from September 30, 2025 through the date of enactment. Funding authority would end once regular FY2026 appropriations or a continuing resolution is enacted. Households that rely on SNAP would keep benefits and receive retroactive payments for any missed months.

SNAP benefits continue during 2026 funding gaps
If enacted, USDA would keep monthly SNAP benefits going during any FY2026 funding gap. The government would use Treasury funds, as needed, even if no continuing resolution or full-year USDA funding is in place. You would also get any missed SNAP payments from September 30, 2025 up to the day this bill becomes law. This stopgap money would end once Congress enacts FY2026 appropriations, including a continuing appropriation.
