Clear labels on foreign-funded ads
If enacted, the bill would require any ad paid for by a foreign government or foreign person to clearly say who paid. Audio must say it out loud; print must show it in writing; video must do both. If a foreign person paid, the ad would also name their country of citizenship and their main business country. The Federal Trade Commission would enforce these rules and could penalize violators. The rules would take effect upon enactment.
