More federal wildfire recovery help for communities
If enacted, this bill would let parties affected by wildland fires get 100 percent federal funding to fix direct and indirect damage when the Agriculture Secretary finds the fire was caused by Forest Service management. It would let the Agriculture Secretary waive cash matching requirements for States, Tribes, local governments, and individuals with recovery projects in the affected area. The waiver would only apply to cash matches under USDA wildland fire recovery programs. The rules would apply only if the Secretary determines the fire resulted from management activities on National Forest System land.
