Show full summary
This bill would direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to revise 45 C.F.R. § 155.410(e) so the annual open enrollment period for plan year 2026 runs from November 1, 2025 to May 1, 2026.
- Families and individuals would get more time to enroll in or switch qualified health plans, with enrollment open from Nov. 1, 2025 through May 1, 2026.
- Exchanges and insurers would implement the longer enrollment window through a regulatory change rather than a new funding authorization.

Longer marketplace open enrollment for 2026
If enacted, the 2026 health insurance marketplace open enrollment would run from November 1, 2025 through May 1, 2026. You would have more time to sign up or change plans and check your subsidy options. This would apply only to plan year 2026 and would not change who qualifies or subsidy rules. HHS would set these dates by updating its rules.
