Protect Funding for Women’s Health Care Act
Sponsored By: Representative Aderholt, Robert B. [R-AL-4]
Introduced
Summary
Bars federal funds to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates. The Protect Funding for Women's Health Care Act would prohibit disbursing federal funds to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, successors, or clinics. It says this restriction would not change abortion-related limits in appropriations laws and would not reduce the overall federal funding available for women's health. The bill states that other providers like state and local health departments, community health centers, hospitals, and physicians' offices would continue to provide services and that funds no longer paid to Planned Parenthood would be made available to other eligible entities to provide women's health care.

Bill Overview
Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.
Would block federal funds to Planned Parenthood
If enacted, the government would stop all federal funding to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates. This would apply even if other laws say otherwise. If you rely on these clinics for care, you could face fewer services or longer waits. Low-income, uninsured, and Medicaid patients would be most affected. The bill lists no dates or dollar amounts.
Would keep abortion limits and women’s health funds
The bill would say it does not change abortion funding limits set in other spending laws. It would also say it does not lower the total federal funding for women’s health. Agencies would keep using current abortion limits when they apply this Act. This clause does not itself add or cut money, and it lists no dates.
