CDLs only for citizens or authorized workers

This bill would limit who can get a commercial driver’s license (CDL). States could give CDLs only to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (green-card holders), or people with USCIS work approval that includes truck driving. If you do not have that status or approval, you would not be able to get a CDL, which could block trucking jobs. States would also need to report on enforcing the English-language driver rule within 180 days of enactment and each year by December 31.
