2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.
Workers would get union contracts and rules
If enacted, unions would have to give members a copy of this Act, a summary of each title, and the union’s constitution and bylaws. New members who join 90 days after enactment would get these by mail or email within 30 days of joining. All members would get them within 1 year of enactment and every year after. If the union has a website, it would keep a home‑page link titled “Union Member Rights and Officer Responsibilities Under the LMRDA” to these materials. Unions with a collective bargaining agreement would also have to give each affected employee a copy of the agreement or post all agreements on the union website, starting within 18 months and on an ongoing basis. Union presidents and treasurers would have to certify compliance to the Department of Labor within 180 days, then again by 18 months and every year.
Labor Department would issue rules
If enacted, the Department of Labor would have 180 days to write rules to carry out these changes. The rules would explain how unions must send notices, post agreements, and file compliance forms. This step would not by itself change pay or benefits.
