Blocks OSHA's proposed heat-injury prevention standard. This bill would prohibit the Secretary of Labor from finalizing, implementing, or enforcing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's proposed "Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings" standard or any substantially similar standard for both outdoor and indoor work settings.

Blocks OSHA heat-safety rule

This bill would prohibit the Secretary of Labor from finalizing, implementing, or enforcing OSHA's proposed heat injury and illness prevention standard published August 30, 2024 (89 Fed. Reg. 70698). The ban would apply to both outdoor and indoor workplaces and to any substantially similar standard. If enacted, employers would not have to follow that rule and could avoid related compliance costs. Workers who face heat on the job would lose the protections the proposed rule would have required. The change would take effect upon enactment.
