It would analyze patterns of compulsive gaming, streaming, and social media and how they erode friendships, dating, and family communication. The Department of Health and Human Services would consult clinicians, addiction experts, human-computer interaction and gaming designers, community organizations, and school-based health centers. The Secretary must publish a report to Congress and online within 18 months that identifies which subgroups of young men are most affected.

Study on screen addiction for young men
If enacted, HHS would study screen addiction's mental, social, and development effects for young men ages 12 to 25. HHS would work with the National Institute of Mental Health and the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation. The study would consult doctors, psychologists, addiction experts, community groups, schools, and digital design professionals. The report would identify which subgroups of young men are most affected. HHS would send the report to Congress and publish it on its website within 18 months of enactment. This would only create a federal study and not change benefits or give direct payments to households.
