Members of Congress paid $1

This bill would cut pay for Members of Congress to $1 per day during any funding lapse in a session. A lapse means a Federal agency or department lost funding because Congress did not pass a regular appropriations bill or a continuing resolution. The $1 rate would apply from the first day of the lapse until the session ends, and only for days after the next regular general election held after enactment.
