Tax break for drone operators

If enacted, service members who operate drones in a combat zone would be able to exclude that pay from their taxable income. You could also exclude pay for intelligence, targeting, or command-and-control work when the Secretary of Defense certifies it directly supported those drone missions. The rule would apply only to active service after the law is enacted and to pay received in tax years ending after that date. If eligible, you would pay less federal income tax on the excluded pay.
