Nick Shirley Congressional Gold Medal Act
Sponsored By: Representative Crane, Elijah [R-AZ-2]
Introduced
Summary
Awards a Congressional Gold Medal to Nick Shirley for investigative reporting that exposed alleged taxpayer fraud. This bill would authorize the Speaker and President pro tempore to present the medal and require the Secretary of the Treasury to have the United States Mint strike and expedite production of the gold medal. It would allow the Mint to sell duplicate bronze medals to cover costs and use the United States Mint Public Enterprise Fund to pay medal costs and receive proceeds. The bill includes findings about a December 26, 2025 42‑minute post claiming over $110 million uncovered and expresses that Shirley showed bravery, integrity, and dedication to the Constitution.
