End TPS for five countries

This bill would end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for nationals of Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, and Lebanon. TPS and any TPS-based work permit would end 180 days after enactment and could not be extended. During the 180-day wind-down, the Secretary could not remove someone only because TPS is ending. After the termination date, people with ended TPS would stop being lawfully present and must depart unless, on or before that date, they obtain a green card, qualifying nonimmigrant status, asylum, or another lawful immigration status independent of TPS. The bill would also bar the Secretary from redesignating those five countries for TPS unless Congress expressly authorizes it.
