Bill Overview
Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.
Extend Health Insurance Premium Credits
If enacted, this bill would transfer the rescinded amounts to the Treasury. The Treasury would make those funds available without fiscal year limits to extend parts of the premium tax credit (section 36B). If you buy coverage on the Health Insurance Marketplace, you would be able to keep eligibility for those premium tax credits and pay lower net premiums. The Treasury Inspector General would audit the use of those funds each year. The Treasury would also publish an annual report showing how the funds were used and how many people retained credit eligibility.
Remove recent immigration funding and rules
If enacted, the bill would repeal Sections 100052, 100053, 100054, and 100055 of Public Law 119-21. It would direct that Title 6 and Title 8 law be applied as if those sections had never been enacted. The bill would also rescind the amounts appropriated under those sections, removing that budget authority from agencies. This would change which immigration and homeland security rules apply and could affect enforcement, agency capacity, and program operations. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
