Territories can add Statuary Hall statues

If enacted, this bill would let five U.S. territories provide statues for the National Statuary Hall Collection. The territories named are American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Statues would have to meet the same specifications and other law that apply to States (see 2 U.S.C. 2131). The bill would also treat those territories as a "State" for one appropriations rule (2 U.S.C. 2132, Section 311). The Architect of the Capitol would be authorized to acquire and place the statues for the Joint Committee on the Library. This would take effect upon enactment.
