More U.S.-Israel counter-drone support
If enacted, the bill would let the Department of Defense authorize up to $100 million instead of $55 million for U.S.-Israel counter-drone programs. It would require the Secretary of Defense to send Congress a yearly report on activities from the prior fiscal year. The report would describe progress on threats and requirements, harmonization with other programs, efforts to move capabilities into fielded programs, and recommendations for future funding. It would also require an annual assessment of Iran-origin unmanned aerial system threats and whether U.S. and Israeli defenses are adequate. The bill would define "unmanned system" for this section by using the meaning in 14 U.S.C. 319.
