Limit custody at immigration offices
If enacted, you would not be taken into DHS custody before a removal order when arriving at or leaving any DHS field office or any Executive Office for Immigration Review facility. This would apply only before an order of removal is entered. An immigration judge could still order custody if the judge finds you are not of good moral character under INA section 101(f). The bill would also add that a finding of not being of good moral character could not be based only on unlawful presence or unlawful entry.
Stop public display of immigration names
If enacted, the Attorney General would not display the name of any party (other than the United States) outside the room where an immigration proceeding is held or in any other public area of an EOIR facility. This would limit public signage or lists that show case participants' names in EOIR facilities accessible to the public.
