Water Infrastructure Assistance Reauthorization Act
Sponsored By: Representative Taylor, David J. [R-OH-2]
In Committee
Summary
Extends the eligible years for rural water and wastewater grants. This bill would amend the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act to replace the 2019–2023 window for water, waste disposal, and wastewater facility grants with a 2026–2031 window. The change updates the statute's year range so the period when those grants apply shifts into the later window.

More water grants for rural areas
This bill would change a rule for rural water, waste disposal, and wastewater facility grants by replacing "2019 through 2023" with "2026 through 2031." If enacted, rural communities, small towns, households, and small businesses that qualify would be able to seek those grants during 2026 through 2031. The change would take effect upon enactment. The bill would not itself provide the grant money; funding would still require separate appropriations.
