In Committee
Summary
biological pest control is added to the high-priority research and extension areas in Section 1672(d) of the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990. That change allows grants under the statute to explicitly support research, development, education materials, information, and outreach on biological pest control to limit crop damage and food-borne illnesses, while the rest of the Act continues to operate under existing authorities and framework.
