In Committee

Summary

Show full summary
  • Specialty crop producers and exporters would receive a yearly analysis of foreign acts, policies, or practices that block or distort exports and, when feasible, estimates of the additional crop value that could have been exported.
  • The Secretary and the U.S. Trade Representative must seek public comment and consult the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Fruits and Vegetables before preparing the report. The report must describe actions taken or planned including actions under section 301, negotiations with foreign governments, and World Trade Organization steps.
  • Congress and the public get the unclassified report in machine readable form and may access a classified annex if needed. The report must also list any funds tied to the referenced program that were not obligated in the prior fiscal year and explain why.
