New appeal rights for Trusted Travelers

If enacted, you would be able to appeal through the Department of Homeland Security’s Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (TRIP) when your enrollment in a Trusted Traveler program is denied, suspended, or ended early. TRIP would have to send you a written notice explaining the reason and listing the TRIP appeal option, any other appeal options the Secretary knows about, and how and when you could reapply. If you file an appeal through TRIP, the Department would give you a written update at least every 30 days while the appeal is pending. The Department would publish on a DHS website within 90 days information on appeal and reapplication options (with dates and time frames) and a Department phone number you can call for appeal status. Covered programs would include PreCheck; Global Entry, SENTRI, and FAST; NEXUS; and the APEC Business Travel Card.
