Strengthening and Improving Mobilization Act of 2026
Sponsored By: Representative Green, Al [D-TX-9]
Introduced
Summary
Creates recurring tabletop exercises to check what resources are needed and how to use Defense Production Act authorities. This bill would add a new Section 306 to Title III of the Defense Production Act of 1950 requiring the Defense Production Act Committee to conduct a discussion-based simulation at least once every five years to identify needed resources and the best use of Title I and Title III authorities. It would also make a small technical correction to the Act's text.

It would identify resources needed and how best to use Title I and Title III authorities. It would formalize planning but would not create new funding or direct payments. If enacted, manufacturers, suppliers, and state or local governments could see indirect supply-chain benefits.
