Show full summary
  • Diplomats and allies would get a dedicated lead to expand Artemis Accords membership and negotiate norms on lunar activities, space resource extraction, and space traffic management. The coordinator would coordinate U.S. engagement with foreign governments and international organizations.
  • U.S. commercial space companies would have a formal federal channel to shape public-private partnerships and to be evaluated as partners in Artemis-related missions. That gives industry clearer access to diplomacy and program planning.
  • Global connectivity and development partners would see a 180-day strategy for using low-earth orbit satellites and high-altitude platforms, including feasibility studies and options like loans, guarantees, insurance, or direct provision. The strategy also can recommend export rules and possible limits on competitors' alternatives to protect U.S. leadership.
