Later retirement age for Foreign Service

If enacted, this bill would change the Foreign Service mandatory retirement age. Covered Foreign Service employees would have mandatory retirement at the higher of age 67 or the Social Security "applicable retirement age" (section 216(l) of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. 416(l)). This would let affected employees work and earn pay and retirement benefits past age 65. The bill text does not set an effective date or change other eligibility rules.
