Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.
Free healthy foods and care for enrollees
If enacted, selected programs would give eligible Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP enrollees a one-year package of health services and healthy foods without deductibles, copays, coinsurance, or other cost-sharing. You would get a personalized health risk assessment and prevention plan, care coordination, telehealth and remote monitoring, lifestyle programs including nutrition counseling, and healthy fruits and vegetables that meet Secretary-set standards. Programs must collect quarterly weight, blood pressure, and blood glucose, report end-of-year data to the Secretary, perform an additional eligibility check, and may end participation if you do not meet engagement standards. Eligibility would be limited to people in certain areas and with qualifying chronic conditions, and you could not get the benefit if you are already receiving substantially similar services.
New produce payment model for Medicare, Medicaid
If enacted, this bill would create the Accountable Produce is Medicine bundled payment model. It would begin no later than 180 days after enactment and run at least five years. The Secretary would pick at least five participating programs for at least two years and could pay them with bundled payments under Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP. Beginning in the third year, the Secretary could require programs to assume financial risk for performance under the model.
