Entrepreneurship help for formerly incarcerated
If enacted, the SBA Administrator would require SCORE to provide nationwide entrepreneurship counseling to people formerly incarcerated in Federal prison. Services would include individualized mentoring for about a year, workshops, and instructional videos to start or grow a small business. SCORE would help create a skills profile, a business plan, and a transition plan, and would assist in finding local resources, sources of capital, and preparing loan or funding applications when appropriate. SCORE would survey participants about satisfaction, and the SBA would report to the House and Senate Small Business Committees within one year and annually after that on participation, mentorship hours, demographics, and survey findings.
