No Antisemitism in Education Act of 2026
Sponsored By: Representative Fine, Randy [R-FL-6]
In Committee
Summary
Treat antisemitism the same as other Title VI discrimination. This bill would require any local educational agency (LEA) or institution of higher education (IHE) that receives federal financial assistance to handle antisemitic conduct by students, employees, or institutional policies as seriously as other discrimination prohibited by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

- Students and staff: Schools and colleges would assess student and employee conduct for antisemitic intent using the bill's definition and apply the same discipline and protections used for other Title VI claims.
- Institutions and administrators: LEAs and IHEs that receive federal aid would have to use the definition tied to Executive Order 13899 when evaluating incidents and align their responses with Title VI standards.
- Enforcement: Violations would be enforceable through existing mechanisms used to enforce Section 601 of the Civil Rights Act, so complaints follow current Title VI processes.
- Legal limits: The bill clarifies it does not reduce First Amendment rights or override state anti-discrimination laws.

New antisemitism protections for schools
If enacted, schools and colleges that get Federal money would have to treat antisemitic discrimination like other Title VI discrimination. Federal and school investigators would have to use the bill's antisemitism definition from Executive Order 13899. Complaints would be enforceable using the same investigation and remedy tools available under Title VI. The section would not reduce First Amendment rights or override State antidiscrimination laws.
