Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

More tax credits for biodiesel producers

If enacted, the bill would let eligible biodiesel and renewable diesel producers, blenders, and sellers claim existing income and excise tax credits through 2029. It would also extend payments for fuels not used for taxable purposes through 2029. These extensions would apply only to fuel sold or used on or after the date the law takes effect. The bill does not change credit rates or who qualifies in the text shown.

No double tax credits on fuels

If enacted, the bill would bar a fuel from receiving both the section 45Z(a) credit and the biodiesel or renewable diesel income or excise credits in the same taxable year. For any fuel with a section 45Z(a) credit, the amount determined under section 40A or section 6426(c) for that fuel would be zero. This rule would apply only to fuel sold or used on or after the date the law takes effect.
