Summer 2026 gasoline vapor waiver

If enacted, the bill would require the EPA to waive the Clean Air Act rule that limits gasoline Reid Vapor Pressure from May 1, 2026 through September 15, 2026. The waiver would let refiners, distributors, transporters, and stations sell and move gasoline that exceeds the usual vapor-pressure standard. "Applicable standard" would still mean the standard in 40 C.F.R. 80.27(a)(2) (or any successor). If enacted, households could see different summer gasoline blends, possible changes in availability or prices, and local air quality could worsen in some places.
