Protect historic displays in parks

This bill would stop the Secretary of the Interior from removing, obscuring, editing, or altering interpretive or educational materials on public display at National Park System units when those materials are historically and culturally accurate and consistent with the unit's purposes. Interpretive or educational materials would include signs, plaques, flags, exhibits, and related online materials. The Secretary would only be able to change such materials to update accurate information or to accommodate new, accurate displays, and would have to consult relevant constituencies, including Indian Tribes when appropriate. The bill would require interpretation and education evaluation and quality-improvement outputs to be historically and culturally accurate. The Secretary would have to replace or restore any such materials removed, obscured, edited, or overly altered between January 20, 2025 and the date of enactment within 180 days after enactment.
