Higher VA disability and survivor payments
This bill would raise certain VA disability and survivor payment amounts on December 1, 2026. Each listed dollar amount would increase by the same percent as Social Security (Title II) benefits rise on that date, as determined under section 215(i) of the Social Security Act. It would raise wartime disability compensation, extra pay for dependents, the clothing allowance, and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children. The VA Secretary would also be able to administratively adjust rates for people under section 10 of Public Law 85-857 who have not received chapter 11 compensation so those rates match the COLA-based increases.
