  • Doyon, Limited would gain title to the described parcel of roughly 21,578 acres and must accept reserved public easements under ANCSA. Doyon may not sell the land to anyone other than the United States, permit mining, or allow development that would derogate the cultural value of the Geese House.
  • Denali National Park and Preserve would have its boundary adjusted to exclude the conveyed land and, to the extent practicable, align with the proposed park boundary shown on the bill's map. The bill also designates certain areas as excluded from conveyance, including lots 1 and 2 in sections 31 and 32 and the land under Chilchukabena Lake and an unnamed lake.
  • Administrative and legal effects include treating the conveyance under ANCSA section 14(h)(8) and exempting it from 43 C.F.R. part 2650 and any past or existing withdrawals affecting the land. The Secretary may make minor survey and legal-description corrections with Doyon's written approval.

Denali preserve land transfer to Doyon

If enacted, this bill would require the Interior Secretary to convey about 21,578 acres in the preserve area of Denali National Park and Preserve to Doyon, Limited, as shown on the map dated April 14, 2026. The conveyance would occur as soon as practicable but not later than one year after enactment and would be subject to valid existing rights and public easements required under ANCSA section 17(b). The transfer would exclude lots 1 and 2 in sections 31 and 32 and land under Chilchukabena Lake and an unnamed lake (U.S. Survey No. 12799, July 24, 2002), and the Secretary would adjust the park boundary to exclude the conveyed land. Doyon would not be allowed to sell the land except back to the United States, authorize mining or mineral activity there, or permit development that would harm the cultural value of the Geese House; the land would be treated as conveyed under ANCSA section 14(h)(8).
