Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.

Remove COVID shots from child schedule

If enacted, any COVID-19 vaccine already on the CDC child and adolescent immunization schedule would be removed on the date of enactment. The HHS Secretary would take steps needed to carry out that removal. A vaccine could be added back only after the required clinical data are posted and other law is followed. This would take effect upon enactment.

Post COVID vaccine data before child schedule

The bill would block adding any COVID-19 vaccine to the CDC child and adolescent immunization schedule unless HHS first posts all clinical data it has on that vaccine. The posting would have to cover safety, effectiveness, and any adverse effects. The data would need to be deidentified to protect patient privacy and protect information about agency and sponsor personnel. This would apply to the CDC’s child and adolescent schedule set by its advisory committee. It would take effect upon enactment.
