Freedom Flag national display rules

If enacted, the bill would name the Freedom Flag the national symbol for remembering September 11, 2001, and support education at the 9/11 Memorial Museum and the Pentagon Memorial Foundation. It would require the Freedom Flag to be displayed each year on Patriot Day, from September 11 through the end of September, at the Capitol, the White House, every national cemetery, major military installations as designated by the Secretary of Defense, the buildings housing the Secretaries of State, Defense, and Veterans Affairs, and every United States post office. Displays would need to be visible to the public. The bill would also say the Freedom Flag must follow the POW/MIA flag in order and that retiring or disposing of the Freedom Flag must follow Department of Veterans Affairs flag retirement practices.
