Introduced
Summary
Bans U.S. funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). This bill would prohibit any voluntary or assessed U.S. contributions to UNRWA. It allows humanitarian assistance to reach individuals who get UNRWA support only if the Secretary of State certifies to Congress that the alternate agencies or entities do not promote, espouse, or affiliate with groups or people that promote violence, terrorism, or antisemitism under the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's Working Definition of Antisemitism.

Ban U.S. payments to UNRWA
This bill would prohibit the United States from making any voluntary or assessed contributions to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The ban would take effect upon enactment. Aid to people who now get help from UNRWA would still be allowed, but only if delivered through agencies or groups other than UNRWA. The Secretary of State would have to certify to Congress that those other agencies do not promote, espouse, or affiliate with entities or individuals that promote violence, terrorism, or antisemitism, as defined by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's Working Definition of Antisemitism, and do not employ such individuals.
