Higher naturalization costs for immigrants
This bill would bar the Secretary of Homeland Security from waiving or reducing any fee for U.S. citizenship (naturalization) applications. If enacted, people applying for naturalization would no longer be able to get fee waivers or reduced fees. The ban would not apply to applications filed under INA sections 328 or 329 by current or former members of the Armed Forces. For that exception, "Armed Forces" would mean the definition in 10 U.S.C. 101.
