More security grant uses for nonprofits
If enacted, eligible nonprofit organizations could use DHS Nonprofit Security Grant money to hire onsite security personnel. The bill would also let grantees hire off-duty police officers with grant funds. It would explicitly allow grant application costs and the staffing needed to apply for and administer grants. Application-staff costs would be limited to 5 percent of each grant. These changes would apply to the DHS Nonprofit Security Grant Program and would take effect upon enactment.
