Relating to questions of privilege in the House of Representatives during the One Hundred Nineteenth Congress.
Sponsored By: Representative Johnson, Dusty [R-SD-At Large]
Introduced
Summary
Limits floor "question of privilege" resolutions by requiring broad cosponsorship. This bill would bar the House Chair from entertaining a privilege resolution unless it has cosponsors equal to at least 20% of the House when offered. If a Member announces an intent to offer one, it must keep that 20% support for one legislative day after introduction. The bill also removes the need for an oral announcement and narrows which conduct-related resolutions are covered.
