Expressing support for the annual designation of the first Saturday after the Spring Equinox as ''National Day of Play''.
Sponsored By: Representative Bera, Ami [D-CA-6]
Introduced
Summary
Would designate the first Saturday after the Spring Equinox as a National Day of Play to promote social connection and physical activity. The resolution would cite the U.S. Surgeon General's declaration of an epidemic of loneliness and link social isolation and excessive device use to higher risks for anxiety, depression, heart disease, dementia, and shorter life spans. It would define play as self-chosen, active, and low-stress. It would encourage communities, schools, parks, workplaces, and places of worship to host events that get people to put down electronics and play.
