Calling upon all Americans on this Memorial Day, 2026, to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces who have died in the pursuit of freedom and peace.

Sponsored By: Representative Guest, Michael [R-MS-3]

Introduced

Summary

Honoring the U.S. service members who died in the pursuit of freedom and peace is the resolution's central aim. The measure would ask Americans to observe Memorial Day as a special day of remembrance and to express respect, pride, and admiration for those who sacrificed their lives. It frames Memorial Day as an expression of faith in democracy and in the cause of liberty and notes that more than one million U.S. service members have given their lives in service.
