Introduced
Summary
Honoring the courage and sacrifice of Korean War and Korean Defense veterans. This nonbinding House resolution recognizes the contributions of nearly 1.8 million U.S. service members who fought alongside South Korea and 20 allied nations after North Korea’s June 25, 1950 invasion by about 135,000 troops. It records that the United States suffered 36,574 dead and 103,284 wounded, that 73 years have passed since the July 27, 1953 armistice and the peninsula remains technically at war, and that roughly 25,000 U.S. troops have served in South Korea since then.
