Introduced
Summary
Designates September 20 as Pharmacy Workforce Suicide Awareness Day to raise national attention to mental health challenges facing pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and student pharmacists. The resolution would cite high levels of burnout and distress in the pharmacy workforce — 7 out of 10 report moderate to high burnout, 33% report significant distress, 27% report anxiety, 73% report high workload, 25% report recent harassment, and 60% report on-the-job fatigue. It would support a day of reflection for those lost to suicide, call for more research into causes and treatment barriers, and urge the President to issue a proclamation encouraging awareness and educational activities.
