- Young adults and families: Notes deaths for people under 55 rose about 1.9% per year from 2011 to 2019 and warns colorectal cancer could become the leading cause of death for people aged 20 to 49 by 2030.
- Public health agencies: Encourages the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to expand work identifying factors behind screening disparities and urges the National Institutes of Health to study physiological drivers of higher risk in young adults.
- People at higher risk and state plans: Urges state health plans to move quickly to cover screenings at younger ages with special consideration for Black Americans and others at higher risk. Screening can catch cancer early when five-year survival is about 90%.
