119-hres-439119th Congress

Providing for the expulsion of Representative LaMonica McIver from the United States House of Representatives.

Sponsored By: Representative Mace, Nancy [R-SC-1]

Introduced

Summary

Expulsion for assaulting federal officers. This resolution would expel Representative LaMonica McIver from the House after finding she entered a secure area at the Delaney Hall federal immigration facility in Essex County, New Jersey without authorization, attempted to stop a lawful arrest, slammed her forearm into a Homeland Security Investigations special agent and attempted to restrain that agent, and pushed and struck a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation officer, conduct the resolution says was captured on body cameras, and it notes the Department of Justice has charged her with two violations of 18 U.S.C. §111(a)(1) while citing House conduct rules and a prior expulsion precedent to conclude she is unfit to serve.
