Introduced
Summary
Highlights preventable men's health risks and promotes early detection. This bill would designate June 9–15, 2025, as National Men's Health Week and ask the President to urge people and groups to observe it. It cites that men live on average more than five years less than women and that American Indian/Alaska Native and African-American men have the lowest life expectancy. It notes higher male mortality from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and unintentional injuries and that suicide is among the top 10 causes of death and is the second leading cause for ages 1–19 and 20–44. It points to screening tools such as PSA tests, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, and testicular self-exams, and it recalls that the week has been observed nationally since 1994.
