Celebrate St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital’s 150th anniversary and its long record of community health service. This resolution would congratulate the hospital, the Sisters of Mercy, its leaders, and staff and extend best wishes while noting the hospital’s 1875 origins, the 1997 joint affiliation with Candler, national recognition from the American Hospital Association with the Foster G. McGaw Award, and outreach programs such as St. Mary’s Community Center, the Good Samaritan Clinic, the African‑American Health Information & Resource Center, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and the Angels of Mercy volunteer corps.
