Summary

Designates a day to honor CHamoru World War II survivors and their resilience. The resolution would support calling June 28, 2025 the tenth anniversary of Guam War Survivors Remembrance Day and would ask Americans to observe it with ceremonies that honor those who died and support survivors. It recounts Guam’s December 8, 1941 invasion, nearly three years of occupation, about 18,000 CHamoru imprisoned at Manenggon, roughly 1,170 civilian deaths, the 2016 Guam World War II Loyalty Recognition Act, and over $38 million in federal and local reparations to survivors and descendants.
