Summary

Honor Native Hawaiian history and culture by designating September 2025 as Hawaiian History Month. This resolution would recognize Native Hawaiians as the indigenous people of Hawaii, celebrate their historical literacy and institutions, note the internationally recognized Kingdom and the 1893 overthrow along with Public Law 103-150’s expression of regret, highlight leaders and ongoing language and cultural revitalization, and encourage federal agencies, schools, and civic groups to hold programs, ceremonies, and educational activities that promote understanding and reconciliation.
