Limits federal use of social costs

This bill would tell federal agencies which "social cost" numbers count for carbon, methane, nitrous oxide, and greenhouse gases. It points to Interagency Working Group and EPA reports from 2010, 2013, 2016, 2021, and EPA analyses from 2023–2024, plus any successor documents. If enacted, agencies would have to treat those documents and related monetized damage estimates as the defined social costs when doing regulatory analyses. The bill would not set new dollar values itself, but it could change how future rules count climate damages and affect costs or protections for households and businesses.
