Awards to Simplify Starting Small Businesses
This bill would create an annual award program at the Small Business Administration. Each year the Administrator would give three awards to state or local governments. One award would go to communities with 400,000 or more people. One award would go to communities with 100,000 to under 400,000 people. One award would go to communities under 100,000 people. Governments would apply in a form and at times the Administrator sets. The Administrator would look for actions that cut paperwork, consolidate resources like user-friendly portals, reduce conflicting rules across jurisdictions, or otherwise make starting a business more efficient. The bill text does not set a funding amount or a sunset date for the awards.
